A L(+)-tartrate dehydrogenase with L(+)-tartrate dehydrogenase and D(+)-malate dehydrogenase (decarboxylating) activity, which can be obtained from Rhodopseudomonas sphaeroides, and also a process for the production thereof. Furthermore, a process and a reagent for the determination of L(+)-tartrate and of D(+)-malate.
