Abstract

The present invention relates to a process for the production of foams containing urethane groups by reacting polyether polyols with polyisocyanates in the presence of water and in the presence of an alkaline catalyst, a compound containing a labile halogen atom and, optionally, a tertiary nitrogen containing chain extender. The present invention also relates to the foams obtainable by this process.
