Abstract

Substituted isoquinolines of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is lower alkoxy, n is the integer zero or 1, and A is ##STR2## wherein R.sub.1 is phenyl, halophenyl, lower-alkylphenyl or lower-alkoxyphenyl, and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof, are described. The compounds of formula I are useful in the treatment of cerebral and cardiac ischemias.
