Abstract
A stable, homogeneous, aqueous detergent slurry is described containing an amphoteric surface-active agent. The slurry contains about 14 weight percent to 30 weight percent of a sodium polyphosphate, about 1 weight percent to 5 weight percent of an alkali metal hydroxide or alkali metal salt, a soluble anionic surface-active agent, about 0.5 to 5 weight percent of an amphoteric surface-active agent which is selected from the group consisting of N-coco .beta.-amino propionic acid; N-lauryl-, myristyl .beta.-amino propionic acid; disodium N-tallow .beta.-iminodipropionate; N-coco .beta.-amino butyric acid; and coco betaine, wherein sodium polyphosphate is present as insoluble particles having an average diameter of about 1 to about 10 microns, and the total amount of surface-active agents are from 13 weight percent to 20 weight percent.
