Abstract
A compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkoxy group, X.sub.2 and Y.sub.2, being the same or different, are each a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group, and Z is a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom, which is useful as an intermediate for the production of diphenyl sulfone compounds.
