Abstract
Disclosed is a photosensitive material for electrophotography containing a pentakisazo pigment of the following formula: ##STR1## wherein the rings A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 may have halogen atoms, alkyl groups or alkoxy groups as substituents at the ortho-positions to the azo groups, the ring B may have a halogen atom, an alkyl group or an alkoxy group as a substituent or may contain the ring Z.sub.1, Z.sub.1 which is an aromatic or hetero ring fused to the benzene ring B, and Y stands for a group of the following formula: ##STR2## in which Z.sub.2 stands for an aromatic ring or a hetero ring, Ar.sub.1 stands for an aromatic ring or a hetero ring, Ar.sub.2 and Ar.sub.3 stand for an aromatic ring, R.sub.0 stands for a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a phenyl group, R.sub.1 stands for a lower alkyl group, a carboxyl group or an ester thereof, and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 stand for a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a phenyl group or a substituted derivative thereof.
