Abstract

A phenolic phosphite antioxidant for use alone in polyolefins or in admixture with synergists, phenolic/phosphite antioxidants, and the like. The adduct formed by reacting a phosphorus trihalide, preferably PCl.sub.3, with 1,3,5-trimethyl-2,4,6-tris(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl)benzene is useful for antioxidant activity in organic materials.
