Abstract
A tire with a crown comprising a strengthening reinforcement and at least one protective ply arranged above the strengthening reinforcement is characterized by the fact that the protective ply has the following features: it comprises a three-dimensional fabric impregnated with rubber; the fabric comprises warp threads and woof threads; the warp threads and the woof threads undulate; the warp threads and the woof threads are made with one or more materials whose rupture stress is less than 140 kg/mm.sup.2 ; and the porosity of the fabric before impregnation with rubber varies from 60% to 90%.
