Abstract

This invention involves a process for minimizing corrosion of metals in contact with aqueous acid solutions wherein said process comprises adding to the aqueous acid solution a corrosion inhibiting amount of a dialkylaminomethyl aromatic triazole having the structure: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is from 1 to 4 substituents and is hydrogen, aliphatic of 1 to about 12 carbons, alkoxy of 2 to about 10 carbons, aroxy of 2 to about 10 carbons, or --COOR.sub.4 wherein R.sub.4 is aliphatic of 1 to about 12 carbons; and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are the same or different and are alkyl of 1 to about 4 carbons.
