Abstract

Novel lactones of 2,2-dimethyl-cyclopropane-1-carboxylic acids of the formula ##STR1## wherein X.sub.1, X.sub.2 and X.sub.3 when identical are selected from the group consisting of chlorine and bromine and when at least two are different, are selected from the group consisting of fluorine, chlorine and bromine and a novel process for their preparation and a process for the preparation of cis 2,2-dimethylcyclopropane-1-carboxylic acids of the formula ##STR2##
