Abstract

Dyeing compositions are disclosed which comprise at least one oxidation dyestuff precursor in combination with at least one direct dyestuff, in an aqueous vehicle, the direct dyestuff being a nitro derivative of the benzene series having the formula: ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 denotes the methyl group, R.sub.2 and R.sub.4 denote hydrogen and R.sub.3 denotes the .beta.-hydroxyethoxy group, or alternatively R.sub.1, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 denote hydrogen and R.sub.2 denotes the methyl or hydroxyl group, or alternatively R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 denote hydrogen, R.sub.3 denotes the methyl group and R.sub.4 denotes the hydroxyl, (.beta.-hydroxyethyl)-amino or (.beta.-N,N-diethylaminoethyl)-amino group, or R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 denote hydrogen and R.sub.4 denotes the N,N-bis-(.beta.-hydroxyethyl)-amino group.
