Abstract
A thiazolidine compound represented by the following general formula I or its acid addition salt ##STR1## where X is --CH.dbd. or --N.dbd., Y is ##STR2## (where R is a hydrogen atom, a methyl group or an ethyl group) or --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --, Ar is a phenyl group which may be substituted by halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, phenyl or trifluoromethyl, a thienyl group or a naphthyl group, R.sup.1 is a hydrogen atom, a straight chain or branched chain alkyl group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms or a phenyl group which may be substituted, R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom, a straight chain or branched chain alkyl group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, a phenyl group which may be substituted, a lower alkoxycarbonyl group, a lower alkylcarbamoyl group or a lower alkenylcarbamoyl group, and R.sup.3 is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower acyl group, a lower alkylcarbamoyl group, a lower alkylthiocarbamoyl group or a phenylcarbamoyl group. The compound is useful as fungicide.
