Abstract

Diamines of the formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 have the meanings defined in claim 1, can be produced by a simple process comprising reacting 1-aza-1,5,9-cyclododecatrienes, correspondingly substituted in the 3- and/or 12-position, with ammonia and hydrogen, in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst, to obtain compounds (I). The compounds (I) are used for example as curing agents for epoxide resins, or for producing polyamides.
