Abstract
A process for producing aliphatic nitriles by reacting the corresponding carboxylic acids or carboxylic alkylesters with ammonia in the liquid phase and in the presence of a metal-containing catalyst, the reaction being carried out at a temperature between about 150.degree. and 290.degree. C. in the presence of iron or an iron compound as the catalyst.
