Abstract

Substituted benzylimidazolium salts of the formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are identical or different and are each hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or halogen, R.sup.4 is alkyl of 8 to 14 carbon atoms or benzyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen or alkyl, R.sup.5 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, phenyl or benzyl, R.sup.6 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or halogen, R.sup.7 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or halogen and X is an anion of an acid, in particular of a hydrohalic acid, and microbicides containing these compounds.
