Abstract

There is disclosed a fixing device for mounting a plate on one side of a flange of a beam, the device comprising a base portion for engagement with an opposite side of the flange, and upstanding portion provided on the base portion, a hole extending through the base and upstanding portions and formed with a screwthread along at least part of its length, and a threaded fastener adapted to be taken through a hole in the plate and into threaded engagement with the hole in the device in order to hold-down the plate onto the flange. The base portion extends eccentrically with respect to the hole in the device, and the hole forms a pivot axis for the device when the threaded fastener is in engagement therewith, whereby the device is pivotable by the threaded fastener between a release position in which the base portion is out of engagement with the opposite side of the flange and a position of engagement with the opposite side of the flange so that, upon tightening of the fastener, the flange is gripped between the plate and the base portion of the fixing device and the plate is held-down onto said one side of the flange.
