Abstract

In a disc brake, the backing plate of the friction pads is guided and supported by the caliper outside of the brake disc, and both end portions of the backing plate is slidably supported by both end portions, arranged in the circumferential direction, of the ceiling surface which is provided on the caliper so as to mount over the brake disc. A piece extended from the central portion of the peripheral portion of backing plate is inserted into a groove formed in the central portion of the ceiling surface.
