Abstract
A low melting, eutectic melt salt composition comprising Li.sub.2 CO.sub.3, Na.sub.2 CO.sub.3 and K.sub.2 CO.sub.3, also containing MnCO.sub.3, is disclosed including its use as a melt in the process for the removal of contaminants, e.g., H.sub.2 S, COS and/or fly ash, from gases obtained by partial oxidation/combustion.
