Abstract

In a process for the preparation of concentrated aqueous formulations of synthetic anionic dispersants, dilute reaction solutions of said dispersants are subjected to reverse osmosis using membranes which contain ionic groups and have a pore diameter of 1 to 500 .ANG.. The dispersant formulations have a high concentration of active ingredient. They are suitable for the preparation of pigment and dye compositions and impart excellent stability to them, e.g. at elevated temperature and against mechanical influences.
