Abstract

A process for the preparation of thiuram disulfides substituted with aliphatic cycloaliphatic, araliphatic, or aromatic hydrocarbon radicals, said process comprising reacting a suitably substituted secondary amine having a pK.sub.a .gtoreq.8 with carbon disulfide in a solvent and in the presence of oxygen or oxygen-containing gas, a solvent, and a metalliferous catalyst, at a temperature of between 0.degree. C. and 200.degree. C.
