Abstract
Isocyanatoaryl sulphochlorides corresponding to the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein R represents hydrogen, a sulphochloride group (SO.sub.2 Cl) or a sulphonic acid group (SO.sub.3 H), are produced by reacting 2,4-diisocyanatotoluene, optionally as mixtures with up to 35% by weight of 2,6-diisocyanatotoluene, with from 0.2 to 2 mols, per mol of starting diisocyanate, of sulphur trioxide or chlorosulphonic acid and from 0.3 to 20 mols, per mol of starting diisocyanate, of an inorganic acid chloride, either successively or simultaneously, at a temperature of from 0.degree. to 160.degree. C. and hydrogen chloride being removed.
