Abstract

What is disclosed is a latex, reactive with a biologically active substance to form a conjugate suitable for serological or immunological assay procedures, the particles of which latex comprises a polymer core and a shell thereover, said shell comprising a water insoluble monomer of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.2 is H or CH.sub.3, n is 1 to 6, and R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are alkyl, aryl, or same other group imparting water insolubility to said monomer.
