Abstract
Novel aminocyclitols, namely the compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is hydroxyl group, a halogen or an acyloxy group; Y is hydrogen or a halogen; and OR.sup.1 is an optionally protected hydroxyl group; and their production. These aminocyclitols are important intermediates for preparing valiolamine having .alpha.-glucosidase inhibitory activity.
