Abstract

An electrophotographic photosensitive member comprises a layer containing a hydrazone compound represented by the following formula (1) or (2): ##STR1## wherein, Z is an atomic group necessary to complete a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic ring; R.sub.11, R.sub.12, R.sub.21, R.sub.22 and R.sub.23 represent substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl, or substituted or unsubstituted aryl, and the combinations of R.sub.11 with R.sub.12 and of R.sub.22 with R.sub.23 can form each a pyrrolidine ring, piperidine ring, or morpholine ring; n is 1 or 2; and A is a monovalent heterocyclic compound residue.
