Abstract

Novel 7-deazapurine derivatives of the formula: ##STR1## wherein X is halogen, Y is hydroxyl or di-C.sub.1-3 alkylamino, Z is a --NH-- or --NHC(.dbd.NH)-- group, l is an integer of 1 to 5, m is an integer of 0 to 2, and n is 1 when Z is a --NH-- group or n is 0 or 1 when Z is a --NHC(.dbd.NH)-- group, and salts thereof are selectively taken up by tumor cells.
