Abstract

The present invention relates to substituted cyclohexane derivatives having the structure: ##STR1## wherein the dotted line may be a carbon-carbon double bond or a carbon-carbon single bond; wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6, R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 may be hydrogen or lower alkyl; wherein Z may be any of the following: ##STR2## wherein R.sub.9 may be hydrogen or lower alkyl; and wherein R.sub.10 and R.sub.11 are lower alkyl. This invention also provides methods of preparing and using the compounds as odor-modifying ingredients in perfumes and perfumed products, and as flavor-modifying ingredients in foodstuffs and tobacco products.
