Abstract
This invention relates to a wrought aluminum alloy, to its use for making semifinished and finished products and to processes of improving the properties, particularly the strength properties, of semifinished and finished products made of that alloy. A wrought aluminum alloy is proposed which contains 1.15 to 2.0% manganese, more than 1.0 and up to 2.0% silicon, 0.25 to 0.65% magnesium, 0.2 to 1.0% iron, not in excess of 0.3% copper, not in excess of 0.2% zinc, not in excess of 0.1% zirconium, not in excess of 0.1% titanium, balance aluminum and other impurities in a total not in excess of 0.2%.
