Abstract
The invention concerns novel compounds of the formula I ##STR1## wherein A, B, D and E are chosen from hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 haloalkyl and C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkoxy and Z is a tertiary or quaternary amino group. The compounds are useful intermediates for the preparation of pyrethroids. In further embodiments the invention provides processes for the preparation of the compounds of formula I and processes for the synthesis of pyrethroids utilizing the compounds of formula I.
