Abstract

Phenylacetonitriles carrying basic substituents, of the formula ##STR1## where D, E, F, G, H, I and K have the meanings given in the description, are prepared by reacting the corresponding phenylacetonitrile with a compound of the formula ##STR2## where X, H, I and K have the meanings given in the description, in a solid/liquid phase system in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst.
