Abstract

An electrolyte permeable diaphragm for use in the electrolysis of aqueous solutions of ionizable compounds in electrolytic cells is comprised of a thermoplastic polymer coated with a fluorochemical resin water repellent. The diaphragms are physically and chemically stable and possess suitable ion and liquid transfer properties.
