Abstract

A kit of parts for converting a bed into a four-poster comprises pelmets for securing to the ceiling of the bedroom above and parallel with the sides and end of the bed, corner posts for locating one at each corner of the bed, and four brackets each including a first portion for securing to the pelmets above an associated corner of the bed and a second portion pivotal on the first portion and adapted to receive the upper end of an associated post, resilient means reacting between the second portion of the bracket and said upper end of the post, the post and second portion of the bracket being pivotal together between an operative vertical position with the resilient means urging the lower end of the post against the floor and a non-vertical position permitting insertion or removal of the upper end of the post from the bracket.
