Abstract
A selvage apparatus including a photo-cell type device for detecting abnormal conditions of selvage threads is disclosed. In the detecting device comprising a microprocessor, the number of light interruptions by the selvage threads is counted and compared with a reference number, whereby abnormal conditions are detected on the basis of whether or not the number of light interruptions is less than the reference number.
