Abstract
Circular saw blades, especially for separating wood, cutting grooves into wood and the like materials, are disclosed. Such blades include a cutting zone in which there are arranged cutting teeth, which cutting teeth may be equipped with hard metal cutting plates. Next to the cutting zone there is arranged a carrying zone comprising a central receiving opening. The carrying zone is of approximately constant thickness and is provided at least in the region between the receiving opening and the cutting zone with raised portions. The raised portions are arranged to extend generally over the entire radial and circumferential extent of the carrying zone, substantially continuously in sequence to one another, and in respective opposite direction projecting above the pertaining larger side of the carrying zone. The projections can occupy respectively a section between radii located at an angle of from about 15.degree. to about 30.degree..
