Abstract

Membrane switch technology is applied to the more conventional switch construction found in a rotary switch. Specifically, there may be a membrane and a substrate, each having electrical contacts or contact means formed thereon. A spacer having openings or opening means is positioned between the membrane and the substrate. The spacer is rotated between the membrane and substrate to vary the position of the opening which permits membrane contacts to be moved through the opening to form a switch closure.
