Abstract

A thermoswitch is physically located on a portion of the current supply connector between the current source and the exciter winding of the starter motor. The portion, constructed as a simple strip with flaps holding the thermostat, influences the temperature-dependent control portion of the thermoswitch according to heating in the armature, field winding, and brushes of the starter motor. The thermoswitch turns OFF the starter system by interrupting current supply to the kick-in starter relay.
