Abstract
A process for producing a tri-osmium heteronuclear metal carbonyl compound comprises establishing a reaction mixture comprising an electron deficient cobalt, nickel, iron, molybdenum or rhodium carbonyl, H.sub.2 Os.sub.3 (CO).sub.10 and a solvent in the presence of gaseous hydrogen and recovering the tri-osmium heteronuclear metal carbonyl compound from the reaction mixture. Some of the cobalt, molybdenum and rhodium carbonyls produced are new.
