Abstract
The present invention is concerned with modifying the crystal form of the anthraquinone of the formula ##STR1## so as to render it more suitable for disperse dyeing and to improve its performance in thermosol dyeing. The modification is effected by heating the dyestuff at elevated temperatures, preferably between 90.degree. and 185.degree. C. until the Debye-Scherrer strong intensity spacings appear at 6.5A.degree., 18.1A.degree. and 20.6A.degree.. It is also concerned with disperse and thermosol dyeing processes utilizing this crystal modification and with aqueous dispersions of this crystal modification.
