Abstract

Compounds of the general formula (I) ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 is an .alpha.-branched alkyl group having 3 to 12 carbon atoms, cyclohexyl, phenyl or .alpha.,.alpha.-dimethylbenzyl and R.sub.2 is methyl, isopropyl, tert.-butyl, tert.-pentyl, 1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl, nonyl, 1,1,3,3,5,5-hexamethylhexyl or .alpha.,.alpha.-dimethylbenzyl, only one of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 being 1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl and at least one of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 possessing at least 8 carbon atoms, and R.sub.3 is hydrogen or methyl, or R.sub.3 together with R.sub.2 is 1,1,3,3-tetramethyl-1,3-propylene, are suitable as stabilizers for organic material to protect it against thermo-oxidative and light-induced degradation.
