Abstract
Recording compensation for fluctuations in the moving speed of an electrostatic latent image receiving member is provided by apparatus which generates a train of pulses in response to such movement to synchronize the impression on the member of lines of character information supplied in the form of electric signals. When the speed of the member is slower than normal such that supply of the character signals is completed earlier in time than the arrival of the trailing edge of a corresponding one of the pulses, the character signals continue to be supplied for impression on the member beyond the normal period therefor. When, on the other hand, the speed of the member is faster than normal such that the supply of the character signals is not completed by the time of arrival of the trailing edge of the corresponding pulse, supply of the last portion of the character signals for impression on the member is prevented so as to thereby avoid a loss of information to be recorded.
