Abstract

A triazafluoranthene compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen, phenyl, cycloalkyl having 3 to 6 carbon atom, (lower alkoxy)carbonyl, lower alkoxy or (lower alkyl)carbonyl, R.sup.2 is hydrogen or lower alkyl, R.sup.3 is hydrogen, phenyl, (lower alkoxy)carbonyl, lower alkoxy, di(lower alkyl)amino, (tetrahydropyran-2-yl)oxy, hydroxy or carboxyl, A is single bond, alkylene having one to 5 carbon atoms or alkenylene having 2 to 5 carbon atoms, and B is single bond or alkylene having one to 5 carbon atoms. Methods of preparing the compound (I) are disclosed. The compound (I) and a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof have a potent anti-anoxic activity.
