Abstract
An electrochromic display device wherein a layer of electrochromic material is formed on a display electrode. A counter electrode is spaced apart from the display electrode, and the space therebetween is filled with an electrolyte. A cermet layer is formed on the counter electrode. The cermet layer consists of WO.sub.3 and Ta.
