Abstract
Hydantoin derivatives disclosed in the present application are represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein, R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an allyl group, a cyclohexyl group, a benzyl group or a group ##STR2## (where R.sup.2 is an alkyl group of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a halogen atom or a nitro group, and n is 0, 1, 2 or 3), X.sup.1 is an alkoxycarbonyl group of from 2 to 5 carbon atoms, a benzoyl group, an aliphatic acyl group of from 2 to 5 carbon atoms or a cyano group, and Y is an alkoxycarbonyl group of from 2 to 5 carbon atoms or an aliphatic acyl group of from 2 to 5 carbon atoms. The hydantoin derivatives are useful as agricultural chemicals e.g. bactericides or intermediates thereof.
