Abstract

This invention relates to the use of pyridoxine .alpha.-ketoglutarate in the prophylaxis of all those physiological conditions for which is known the possibility of a hyperlacticacidaemic state arising or which are sustained by such state as well as in all those pathological cases for the therapy of which drugs are administered which cause an increase of blood lactic acid, both in human and veterinary medicine. The invention also concerns pharmaceutical compositions characterized in that they contain a pharmacologically effective amount of pyridoxine .alpha.-ketoglutarate together with the usual inert non-toxic vehicles.
