Abstract

Photoconductive compositions and electrophotographic photoreceptive materials are described containing a photo-conductive substance and a 5-nitrofurfural derivative represented by formula (1) ##STR1## wherein A represents atoms which form, together with the carbon atom, a moiety represented by one of formulae (2) to (10) ##STR2## wherein R represents a straight or branched chain alkyl group containing from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, X represents a group having a Hammett .sigma. value of at least 0.2, n is 0, 1 or 2, and Y and Z each represents a cyano group, --COOR, ##STR3##
