Abstract
A new, lightweight armor plating for important installations or control cers is disclosed whereupon being struck by a projectile restricts the ensuing shock wave to a narrow beam-like path always perpendicular to patterns of striation engrained in said armor. This response dissipates the projectile's kinetic energy more rapidly. The new armor is lighter than traditional forms of armor.
