Abstract

A method of treating diarrhoea and promoting weight gain in mammals by administration of an effective amount of a compound selected from the group consisting of 4-fluoro-.gamma.-(4-alkylpiperidino)-butyrophenone of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is lower alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof.
