Abstract

The preparation and use as intermediates is described for 7,8-dihydroxy-1-phenyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-3-benzazepines whose structures are characterized by having either an aralkyl or lower alkanoyl group at position 2 or an .alpha.-hydroxyalkyl or .alpha.-chloroalkyl group at position 6.
