Abstract
A quaternary ammonium succinimide salt composition represented by the formula: ##STR1## in which R is a hydrocarbyl radical having from 25 to 200 carbon atoms, R.sup.i is a divalent hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, R.sup.ii is a hydrocarbyl radical having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, X has a value of 2 or 3, y has a value from 1 to 5, z has a value of 0 to 5, and X is a halide radical is provided, as well as a method of preparation and a lubricating oil composition containing same.
