Abstract

Styryl compounds represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein X.sub.1 is a halogen atom or a lower alkyl or lower alkoxy group, X.sub.2, Y.sub.1 and Y.sub.2 are each a hydrogen or halogen atom or a lower alkyl or lower alkoxy group, R.sub.1 and R.sub.3 are each an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group, and R.sub.2 is a straight or branched C.sub.3 -C.sub.10 alkylene group or an alicyclic hydrocarbon-containing alkylene group, a process for producing them, a process for dyeing and printing hydrophobic fibers by their use and a process for coloring synthetic resins by their use. According to said processes a clear yellow color of high fastness can be given to the fibers and synthetic resins.
