Abstract
A method for attenuating oscillations of a rotating system. Acceleration and deceleration of the system are sensed. In dependence on an acceleration, an eddy-current brake is applied to the rotating system. In dependence on a deceleration, rotational energy is supplied to the system from a rotational energy source.
